Organisations and individuals came together at the third annual Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards to recognise commitments to excellent employment practices. (July 2024)

 

  •  The Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards are hosted by the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter to celebrate employment excellence.
  •  The awards champion work underpinned by a commitment to inclusion, health and wellbeing, and giving employees a voice.
  •  Held on Tuesday 2 July at Whitworth Hall, the awards saw 11 winners recognised for their achievements over the last year.

 

Supporters and Members of the Charter have shown an incredible passion towards good employment through their commitments to creating healthy, thriving workforces.

 

The Charter champions work that is underpinned by a commitment to inclusion, health and wellbeing, and employee engagement. The network of Supporters and Members lead the movement to improve employment standards across the region and the awards are a moment to celebrate that good practice.

 

The event was hosted by Michael Taylor, editor of The Business Desk North West, and attended by business leaders from around Greater Manchester.

 

This years headline sponsors were Damar Training. They are a leading apprenticeship provider with 40 years' experience in the training sector, delivering impactful apprenticeships that create long-term value for individuals and employers.

 

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, said:

To register as a Supporter. To pay the Real Living Wage. Commit to effective employee engagement. Offer an apprenticeship to someone from your community. And you can say to those employers. This is not about charity – it is the right thing to do and it is good for your business.'

 

Nick Cooper, Managing Director of Adept Corporate Services – winner of Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham’s Employer of the Year 2024 said:

'Winning this award means the world to us. It shows that all our hard work and dedication over the past few years has truly paid off. Being recognised for our commitment towards good employment is a proud moment for our entire team.'
