Terms and Conditions - Video Competition

 

1. The Promoter

1.1 The promoter is: The Growth Company Limited [trading as GM Good Employment Charter], of Lee House, 90 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester, M1 5JW.

2. The Competition

2.1 The title of the competition is The Good Employment Week Competition.

2.2 The competition requires participants to submit a video entry via the online form at this link. The video must be no longer than 60 seconds and showcase a good employment initiative in action, including explaining why employees are proud to work for the participant’s organisation (Competition Requirements).

3. How to enter

3.1 The competition will run from 00:01 on 7th October 2024 (the "Opening Date") to 23:59 on 13th October 2024 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.

3.2 All competition entries must be received by the Promoter at Lee House, 90 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester, M1 5JW by no later than 23:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

3.3 To enter the competition:

3.3.1 Send a completed entry form, which can be found here, by the Closing Date.

3.3.2 Submit one (1) video that meets the Competition Requirements via the entry form by the Closing Date.

3.3.3 No purchase is necessary.

3.4 The Promoter will not accept:

3.4.1 Responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

3.4.2 Proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

3.5 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.7 The competition entries will be judged by a panel of nine judges, who comprise the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter team. The judging will be based on several factors, including how creatively the video presents the good employment initiative, the relevance of the initiative and its impact on employees, and the level of engagement and enthusiasm demonstrated in the video. Additionally, the clarity with which the message and initiative are communicated will be evaluated, as well as adherence to the competition rules, such as the video length and content, and an explanation as to why employees are proud to work for the participant’s organisation.

3.8 The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final.

4. Eligibility

4.1 The competition is only open to Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter Registered ‘Supporter’ or ‘Member’ organisation employees, who are residents of the UK and aged 18 years or over, except:

4.1.1 Employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;

4.1.2 Employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

4.1.3 Members of the immediate families or households of (4.1.1) and (4.1.2) above.

4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize (detailed below). The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

4.3 The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:

4.3.1 Automatically generated by computer or created by artificial intelligence (including but not limited to chatbots such as ChatGPT or similar software applications);

4.3.2 Completed by third parties or in bulk;

4.3.3 Illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged, or tampered with.

4.4 There is a limit of one entry per organisation. Entries on behalf of another organisation will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

4.5 The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

5. The Prize

5.1 The prize is two (2) tickets to the 2025 Greater Manchester Good Employment Awards. This includes entrance to the full event, including a 3-course meal, and a selection of drinks to the two attendees present.

5.2 There is no cash alternative for the prize.

5.3 The prize is supplied by The Growth Company Limited [trading as GM Good Employment Charter], of Lee House, 90 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester, M1 5JW.

5.4 The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter's control make it necessary to do so. The prize is not negotiable or transferable.

6. Winners

6.1 The decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into. The decision will be announced on 28th October 2024 (Announcement Date).

6.2 The Promoter will contact the winner personally as soon as practicable on or after the Announcement Date, using the email address provided with the competition entry.

6.3 The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, the Promoter will publish the name of the winning organisation, along with their video, on the GM Good Employment Charter website and promotional channels on the Announcement Date.

6.4 If you object to any or all of your organisation name and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter prior to the Announcement Date at contact@gmgoodemploymentcharter.co.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Claiming the Prize

7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you must claim it by replying to the email notification within 60 days of the Announcement Date to confirm your acceptance. Following this, you will be contacted in spring 2025 with instructions to finalise your ticket registration. If you do not respond to the claim email within the 60-day period, your claim will be considered invalid.

7.2 The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

7.3 The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted, is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 60 days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.

7.4 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents, or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury, or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents, or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Ownership of Competition Entries and Intellectual Property Rights

9.1 All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt.

9.2 You agree (and you will ensure any of the participants in the video agree) that the Promoter may, in their sole discretion, make your entry available on its website and in any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the competition.

9.3 You grant the Promoter a non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence in perpetuity, for the full period of the intellectual property rights in the competition entry, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format, and sub-licence the intellectual property rights in the competition entry for such purposes.

10. Data Protection and Publicity

10.1 The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the privacy policy. See also condition 6.4 with regard to the announcement of winners.

11. General

11.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

11.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom.
