New Members Announcement | June 2023

8 new employers have joined the Good Employment Charter's Membership tier. James McKenna, the Regional Secretary of the TUC North West, makes the announcement. The Good Employment Charter now has 91 Member organisations, all leading the movement for Good Employment across the city region. 

Leadership for Good Employment | A Discussion Paper

The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter recognises excellent people management as a vehicle to organisational success, and to good employment more generally. As part of our 'Leadership for Good Employment' campaign, we have developed a discussion paper on the topic of excellent people management. This was created in collaboration with Gillian Drakeford, former Global Executive and UK CEO for Ikea.

Six new employers are announced for the Good Employment Charter's Membership tier. This news is given by Elise Wilson, Leader of Stockport Council. These have transitioned from Supporter status - through proving their commitment to Good Employment across the seven characteristics of Good Employment. There are now 49 Member organisations, who are leading the way to making Greater Manchester a better place to live, work and play.

Soft skills in hard times: A Virtual Roundtable

The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter, in partnership with CIPD and Acas, held a virtual roundtable following the release of its recent paper.

Discussions follow seven employers who explore the importance, implementation and effect of positive people management skills. They also shared how they manage and continue to work remotely, whilst transitioning to their place of work.
